I chose to start my 101 in 1001 project on my 26th birthday.

(Below: Derek and I celebrating my bday)

    IMG_0279 bday

I was actually introduced to the 101 in 1001 challenge by another blogger. Later, I learned that it was actually a big phenomenon that has spread throughout the blogosphere. It's been both fun and inspiring to read other bloggers' lists and see them getting closer and closer to accomplishing all their 101 goals.

Start your own 101 in 1001 project! Be sure to let me know if you do, and we can cheer each other on.

Haha, nah, I'm not that picky. Half the stuff I write in my blog is just for humor. If JLH did a nute photoshoot, I'd have to be pretty damn spiteful, not to mention dumb, to not look. =P

  • GeLLiBeLLy

what a great project to embark on.  i don't know if i could even come up with 101!

    you look gorgeous!!

  • XXKimPossibleXX

Happy Belated Bday! You look so beautiful in that picture, you're simply going.

Your list is so cool........I don't know if I can come up with 101 things.  I'll let you know if I do.

I think I can copy this one from yours: (what an awesome challenge!)

    91. Have computer-free Friday nights for one month

those are really great goals. i hope to do some of those things as well. coming up with 101 goals seems like an ambitious project...but i'll try it out one of these days!

Thanks for the link to Chinesepod; I prefer flash cards (in traditional rather than simplified) but its nice to have another tool.

In case you need a backup tool for one of your items (or use MS Synctoy and an external HD) :

Get Acronis True Image for Free True Image is software that creates an image of your hard drive(s). You can restore partitions, folders, or files, as well as the entire hard drive. Acronis is giving away True Image 8 Personal. Although V8 is an older version of True Image, and it doesn't have the fancy features of the latest version, it's smaller and runs faster. http://www.acronis.co.uk/mag/pcpro/ati8pe

sounds like a great plan and list. now you have to put it all in order to accomplished, because things fall into places one at a time. when one thing is done, the other should naturally fall in place. (ie. finance classes --> stocks --> investment. to get investment money, you must first organize your life and then get a job to save up)..

i'm going to make my list now, cheers!

    Huge Props!

Extremely impressive list. I am thinking about what my 101 will be. Getting talk therapy regarding my Coma specifically is number one on the list, now that all my physical therapy is finished. (I still have to do my daily thing, just not professional therapy anymore).

Wow, you guys are definitely an attractive couple! Happy belated birthday!

interesting idea.  how long did it take you to think of 101 things?  it'd probably take me at least a whole day... haha.  how are you gonna keep track of your progress?  and are you gonna share that with your loyal readers?  :)

  • snow_blossoms

Great idea.  I am going to make a list now too!

Our aspirations coincide on points: 5, 7, 10, 18, 31, 44, 54, 59, 61 (most of all 61!), 63 and 73. After reading your post, I did #79. I am thinking of my 101 right now. Great post. It also helps other people know you better.

    not bad!

blue hill at stone barns?  i'm so jealous!

  • ciaobellavogue

I was terrified of dogs for years. even little mini dogs. it was so bad, i'd literally jump on top of a car if one came running up to me. ( I was attacked by one when i was a kid)  It had to change as soon as I started at Google. (They allow employees to bring dogs of ALL sizes to work daily, some were like giant bears!) I was very very hesitant at first and people didn't respond well to me, since everyone there seemed to be such dog lovers...whereas I would quickly leave any office that had a dog. At the same time my parents got a dog at home. Eventually I was forced to warm up to the dog at home..it took about 3 months for me to be okay with her jumping on me..and then i fell in love. To this day, I am still a bit standoffish to dogs but not as bad...I can even walk up and pet one!

RYC: I hear ya. The group of xangans I regularly consort with has been the same for years, and far more personal than most other blogs I've been involved with. My non-xanga blog (thebekkaffect.com) was recently cybersquatted, and most of my non-xanga blogging relationships and reading with it. So I figured heck, why not venture back into xanga-land and see what there is to see! :) Though I think I'm going to try to keep up with My Open Wallet that you recommended, definitely caught my interest.
